Lord McAvoy Labour -

Lord McAvoy is a Labour Life peer who has sat under this title in the Lords since 22 June 2010. His full title is The Rt Hon. the Lord McAvoy, and his given name is Thomas McLaughlin McAvoy. Prior to joining the Lords, he sat in the Commons as an MP, and was first elected in 1987. He currently undertakes the role of Shadow Chief Whip (Lords). In addition, he is Deputy Speaker (Lords), and Deputy Chairman of Committees (Lords).
