1952-1954; member, Fresno County Planning Commission, 1965-1969; served on
Fresno County Board of Supervisors, 1970-1974; delegate, California State
Democratic convention, 1966; elected as a Democrat to the Ninety-fourth and
Ninety-fifth Congresses (January 3, 1975-January 3, 1979); unsuccessful
candidate for reelection in 1978 to the Ninety-sixth Congress; died on November
10, 2014, in Fresno, Calif.
