Joelson, and reelected to the eleven succeeding Congresses (November 4, 1969-January 3, 1993); chairman, Committee on Science, Space, and Technology (One Hundredth and One Hundred First Congresses); chairman, Committee on Public Works and Transportation (One Hundred Second Congress); unsuccessful candidate for the Democratic nomination for governor of New Jersey in 1977; was not a candidate for renomination to the One Hundred Third Congress in 1992; died on July 15, 2014, in Green Pond, N.J.
