United States Army, 1950-1953; rancher; investment banker, 1957-1985; elected
as a Republican to the Ninety-ninth Congress (January 3, 1985-January 3, 1987);
was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1986; resumed horse and cattle
ranching; consultant on natural resources and taxes; died on January 12, 2014,
in Carbondale, Colo.
