SYNAR, Michael Lynn, a Representative from Oklahoma; born in Vinita, Craig County, Okla.,

High School, 1968; B.S., University of Oklahoma, Norman, 1972; LL.B.,
University of Oklahoma Law Center, 1977; Rotary International Scholar, Graduate
School of Economics, University of Edinburgh, Scotland, 1973; M.A.,
Northwestern University, Evanston, Ill., 1974; rancher; real estate broker;
admitted to the Oklahoma bar in 1976 and commenced practice in Muskogee;
elected as a Democrat to the Ninety-sixth and to the seven succeeding
Congresses (January 3, 1979-January 3, 1995); one of the managers appointed by
the House of Representatives in 1988 to conduct the impeachment proceedings
against Alcee Lamar Hastings, judge of the United States District Court for the
Southern District of Florida; unsuccessful candidate for renomination to the
One Hundred Fourth Congress; chairman of the Campaign for America Project and
of the National Bankruptcy Review Commission; was a resident of Washington,
D.C., until his death there on January 9, 1996; interment in Memorial Park
Cemetery, Muskogee, Okla.
