Democrats are Failing Because They Have No Issues to Win 2020 Elections

Electability cannot be gauged accurately each and every time, especially for presidential election candidates, so one must exercise caution while predicting the win or loss of any candidate.

Everyone perceives electability differently but it seems like more and more Democrats are giving priority to electability while making their decision about voting in the 2020 election.

What really matters to Democrats?

In an NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll conducted this year from the February 24th to the 27th, democrats were asked whether they would vote for a presidential candidate who comes closest to their views on different issues or for one who has the highest chance of beating Donald Trump. For 40% of all Democratic primary voters, a candidate who could beat Trump was a priority.

It was clear even four years ago, when Trump announced his candidacy for president, that he had a winning hand and probably still does.

If Trump chooses his issues wisely, he can force Democrats to defend their socialist opinions with respect to universal healthcare, housing, and guaranteed income which have devasted economies since antiquity. Taking money from hard workers and giving it to the irresponsible does not inspire people to work hard or push people to take risks.

If businesses are going to face higher taxes and the risk takers who become successful are going to get penalized that large aspect that advances society and increases the quality of life for everyone is going to go away. Sorry Democrats, we like growth – we don’t want European stagnation.

Democrats may face a potential backlash

Over a period of time, demographic and generational shifts have brought about several social changes; like views on criminal justice for instance. Democrats tried to prove that they could be tough on crime, in an age when crime rates were high.

But their own records in the past are now vulnerable to attack; whether we consider Joe Biden and his role in the 1994 crime legislation, Kamala Harris for her role as a prosecutor or Bernie Sanders who voted for the 1994 legislation.

Fabricating excuses justifying losses

Democrats tried to come up with a plethora of excuses ranging from the incompetence of the Clinton campaign, hostility of the media and sexism to James Comey’s unhelpful letters and even sheer bad luck to justify their loss against Trump in 2016.

Now that the 2020 elections are near, Democrats are once again putting ridiculous charges against Trump and asking for deceptive investigations.

This approach is actually hurting the Democrats as they seem like a toxic bunch that just cannot beat an opponent like Trump and so are resorting to falsehood and trickery.

What Democrats need to do!

The bottom line is that the 2020 election has really high political stakes and history will be cruel to Democrats if they blow up their opportunity of taking some sensible decisions.

This means that not only do they have to choose a presidential nominee wisely but also take care to not damage the candidate in any way or withhold support owing to grudges from the nomination contest.

Democrats are coming off as so stubborn and accusatory that it looks like they have no hopes of winning the 2020 elections.
