|More Than 50% of Refugees Are On Food Stamps – A Drain on Taxpayer Money|
|keywords: Food Stamps Foreign Refugees Immigration Refugees|
A report from the Center for Immigration Studies shows that more than 50% of refugees who enter our country are on food stamps. While it is a known fact that refugees are more likely to be on welfare than our own citizens, the sheer number of people who are dependent on welfare programs is truly shocking.
Keep them out! Build the wall!
Welfare for Foreign Refugees – A Look at the Numbers
Jason Richwine, who is an analyst at the Center for Immigration Studies, reviewed and analyzed the annual report released by the Office of Refugee Resettlement and revealed the extent to which refugees are dependent on welfare programs.
The Threats Posed by Refugee Resettlement Programs
Apart from the enormous costs borne by the taxpayers, there are two other reasons why letting in millions of refugees could be disastrous for us in the long run.
More Competition for Jobs
First, more than 50% of young, able bodied refugees who enter the US do not even have a high school diploma. They do not possess any level of education or skill, as a result of which they could never be a productive citizen of our country.
Even those who are qualified to get work would be competing against African Americans and white people from low-income households for minimum wage jobs.
Moreover, there are many unscrupulous business owners in the country who are happy to hire refugees, as they can get away with paying them next-to-nothing, which they cannot do with our citizens.
Changing Cultural Landscape
Secondly, and more importantly, the United States is not just a piece of land that anyone can claim ownership of. It was built from the ground up by our ancestors, who believed America could be a land where people with shared values could live together.
We have nothing in common with these refugees who enter our countries legally or the illegal immigrants who sneak through the borders. So, in the long run, our country’s cultural landscape could be irreversibly changed beyond recognition.
Already, in many parts of the country, you cannot conduct business if you don’t speak Spanish. Is this the kind of America we want to leave behind for our children and grandchildren? On top of this, these refugees don’t know how jobs are created. They are very ignorant – they need to return to their countries and fix their own issues. If America wants to give them the weapons to do so, that is a possibility.
Time to Change our Immigration and Refugee Policy
No matter how rich we are, we cannot afford to take in millions of people from all over the world year after year. If we are to survive as a country and as a culture, we need to change our refugee and immigration policy immediately and put an end to the steady influx of people from all over the world into our country.
Hilarious how Democrats degrade America but yet everyone in the world is clamoring to get here. Whatever…..too bad weak Republicans like Paul Ryan and pathetic John McCain continue to get in the way on what is right regarding this issue.
