A BILL to amend the Code of Virginia by adding in Article 5 of 
 Chapter 9 of Title 15.2 a section numbered 15.2-984, relating to flood plain 
 ordinances.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
 
 
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding in Article 
 5 of Chapter 9 of Title 15.2 a section numbered 15.2-984 as follows:
 
 
� 15.2-984. Adoption of flood 
 plain ordinances.
 
 
Any locality may by ordinance 
 regulate the activity on, use of, or 
 development of a flood plain in a manner consistent with any state or federal 
 flood plain management programs and requirements. Nothing in this section shall 
 be construed to limit a localitys authority to regulate a flood plain pursuant 
 to � 15.2-2283 or any other 
 provision of law.
